American Shorthair Cat - Good information
A shorthaired felid, American Shorthair is one of the commonest
house cats in United States. It traces its origin to British Shorthairs
who were brought over on ships with European settlers owing to their
good hunting skills. With time these adept hunters moved into cities and
started being bred for their good looks, health and temperament.
Initially they were known as Domestic Shorthairs. However, with time as
issues of pedigree and pure breeding started taking ground, they were
given the name of American Shorthair to distinguish them from
non-pedigreed alley cats.

Treatments for Dog Depression
Yes, even dogs can become depressed. It is not uncommon to see a
dog start acting differently when certain things happen. For example if
someone who cares for them goes away, you may find your dog sitting at
the door at the time the person always comes home staring at the door.
When the person returns the dog is likely to return to normal behavior.

Use an Automatic Dog feeder
An automatic dog feeder is a great way to utilize modern
technology to feed your dog when you are not able to. Most people work a
lot during the day and just don't have time to make a stop by the home
to feed the dog. The automatic dog feeder will dispense the food on a
timer so you don't have to go out of your way to do so and your dog will
have a feeding schedule.

Hypoallergenic Dog Food Diet
There are many benefits to a hypoallergenic dog food diet. Food
allergies in our canine friends are just like food allergies in us. A
food allergy is simply an adverse reaction of one's body to a particular
food or even a particular ingredient in a food. When this particular
food or ingredient is ingested it will cause an itchiness on certain
places of the body or even all over the body.
Monday
Hypoallergenic Cat
If ones nose starts running, eyes water, throat feels like it is
closing or hives develop when a cat is near, an allergy to it is the

is purchasing a hypoallergenic cat.

The Pharaoh Hound Dog
Many people believe that the Pharaoh Hound is called by that name
because it is exclusively found in Egyptian history, but this is not in
fact the case. The Pharaoh Hound was originally bred in Malta 3000
years before Christ and transported to Egypt by Phoenician tradesmen.
In Malta the dog was used for hunting rabbits and only the most
successful were used in the breeding program. It is still being used
for its original purpose in its country of origin and in 1979 the breed
was declared to be the "National Dog of Malta". The Egyptians favored
this breed for hunting gazelle.

1860s, originating in Ethiopia, yet some people claim that the breed can
be traced back to the ancient cats of Abyssinia, now called Egypt.

England in 1868. The Abyssinian was officially recognized as a distinct
breed in 1882.
Thursday
Dog Separation Anxiety
Dog separation anxiety is also referred to as home alone syndrome
or canine separation anxiety, and is one of the most common behavioral
problems to affect shelter dogs (and their owners). Adopting a shelter
dog is a wonderful way to gain a new, loyal family member and change the
life of a special animal. However, many shelter dogs suffer from
separation anxiety either simply because of their personality or because
of abandonment issues and will need extra loving care and plenty of
patience.
Wednesday
Cat Stress and Anxiety
Cats want to do today what they did yesterday and plan to do
tomorrow what they did today. Cats in particular, it seems do not want
to have anything to do with change in their environment or even any type
of confusion. When their normal surroundings are piled high with
everything that was once in another room, they sometimes decide to spray
on those things to lower their sweet little feline anxiety/anxiety
levels.

Hyperthyroidism - Cats
A serious disease called "feline hyperthyroidism" has risen to
epidemic proportions since the first cases were diagnosed in 1979. It is
a worldwide phenomenon, though worse in the U.S. than other countries.
Hyperthyroidism (hyper = too much, thyroid = a hormone-making gland), is
seen mostly in older cats age 10 or more. Thyroid hormone regulates the
body's basic metabolic rate. Too much of it is like drinking too much
coffee-it speeds up every reaction in the body.
