One day my daughter and I were looking for some cool cat tree
plans on the internet. We stumbled upon a very funny picture some fellow
was proudly showing to the world. It was of a "cat tower" (and I use
the term loosely) he'd made for his wife.
I kid you not, this thing was a fence post bolted to the wall. It had some rope wrapped sparsely around it in spots and a beer box stapled to the top!
Can
you imagine being the poor wife, girlfriend, or mother who had to
proudly display that thing in the middle of her living room?
Seeing that got us to laughing and talking about how her Dad would NEVER use directions for anything he is building, be it a bike, a bookshelf or a cat furniture.
This always leads to very unpredictable finished products that are often relegated to the basement until a new home can be found for them.
We also laughingly discussed what a problem this almost universal resistance men seem to have to using instructions or plans is.
It forces mothers and wives to display shoddily made, poorly designed home improvements (like the cat tree described above) because the men in their lives refuse to read instructions or use plans.
Why do you men insist you "know" what you are doing and "wing it" all the time?
Seriously, your wife (girlfriend or mother) doesn't want a cobbled together eye-sore that's pretending to be a cat tree in her home.
If your over the age of 18 the fact that you made it yourself won't make her want to put an ugly cat tree in the public spaces of her house.
Trust me on this.
We will not appreciate some poorly made, ugly cat tree more just because we got sticker shock when we saw the price tag on that beautiful kitty condo at the pet store.
Or because we nearly fainted when we got to the sales page and saw the nearly $900 price tag on the Jack-N-The-Bean-Stalk kitty tree on the internet.
We know there are cool cat tree plans out there. We know they make it simple to build a beautiful piece of kitty furniture that will actually compliment our decor and save time as well as money.

Our cat trees allow your cat to go on those adventures the outside has to offer without ever actually leaving the indoors of a safe zone. Make sure your cat is in shape and having fun climbing a cat tower that provides a challenge and experience he/she has never seen before.
