Easy Tips For Choosing The Best Dog Litter Box

Dog litter boxes have become increasing popular these days. Busy lifestyles keep dog owners away from home for longer hours. New puppy owners can't get home as frequently to let their new companion out.
With so many types of boxes on the market today, here are a few tips on finding the best...

1. Look for one that has a plastic tray. This makes it simple and very easy to clean and use over again unlike the diaper like pads available. With pads, you are constantly having to replace them, which can be expensive, and they can cause odors. The plastic tray can be used as is or if you choose, you can put newspaper on top of the plastic tray to absorb the waste.

2. Find a dog litter box with a grate that your dog can stand on. Ideally a grate on top of a plastic tray works very well. It will separate the liquid from their paws so your dog won't be standing in it and have wet paws and track through your house. The idea of a litter box after all is to keep the waste confined to a certain area. So make sure it comes with a grate!

3. Stay away from boxes that use pellets. Pellets can be a huge mess! Dogs can kick the pellets out of the box. Puppies might decide to play in the box or even chew up the pellets. This could cause problems for your puppy so stay away from litter boxes that use pellets.
