By returning our dogs to their most natural form of
food, we can give them a healthier, longer lifespan and better quality
of life. Some of the many benefits of feeding a raw dog food diet are
listed here.
Firstly, it is what your dog would be eating naturally. I think as a society we are beginning to understand the benefits of eating a more natural diet. Over processed, over heated and additive filled foods are simply not good for us. The same is true for our pets. Commercial pet foods are full or artificial flavors, (our dogs wouldn't eat this stuff without added flavorings), food colorings, (so it will appeal to us, our dogs don't care what color it is) and even pesticides! None of this stuff would be found in their natural diet.
If your dog has a problem with itchy, scratchy skin or hot spots, these problems will disappear. These annoying skin problems are usually persistent and it is difficult to find permanent relief for our four legged friends. You will be amazed at how quickly these problems will vanish with this natural and hypoallergenic dog food diet.
Many dogs have dog food allergies which can manifest as hot spots or ear infections. These problems will no longer be a problem when feeding a raw diet for dogs. This diet will have the correct balance of vitamins and minerals that suits your dog needs. You will no longer have to buy expensive additives or vitamins to give to your dog daily. A raw dog diet will better meet your dog's nutritional needs because it is what nature intended.
It is easier for your dog to digest because it is what their digestive system is designed to deal with. Because your dog's diet will have the correct balance of vitamins, minerals and fat you will also notice that his coat will become shiny and thick. If your dog has had a problem with bad breath or dirty teeth you will be amazed at how this raw dog food diet will make these problems vanish. I could go on and on with the benefits. Feeding your dog this type of all natural dog food will help your dog's quality of life improve on so many levels.

Starting out feeding raw can be a bit confusing. I was lucky to
come across this book by Maggie Rhines called "Going Rawr! Dog Lover's
Compendium". This book, which is available as a download, goes into the
practical points of feeding a raw dog food diet. It has great lists and
tips on how to start and keep your dog on this type of diet. She talks
about sourcing your food, handling, preparing, storing and serving it.
You can feed a raw dog food diet to your dog at any age, from puppy to
senior to pregnant female, your dog will benefit.
